SD Projects – Peru is a Peruvian non-profit civil organization that has been legally registered since 2009. The organization participates in various volunteer programs in the areas of the Central Andes of Peru. The programs aim to improve the quality of life of Andean peoples and communities that suffer from social, economic and cultural difficulties and exclusion.

Who We Are
We have been working with communities, with the help of foreign and Peruvian volunteers, developing projects that aim to organize and empower groups of migrant Andean women. We focus on aspects such as gender problems, sexism, sexual education, health, nutrition, etc. We also develop practical projects for the construction of community bio organic plots, improved kitchens and living spaces, among others. Additionally, we carry out a wonderful project with children from the families we work with, providing support and educational and emotional material to those who live in areas of extreme poverty, in and around the city of Huancayo in the Peruvian Andes. We help instill values and self-esteem, and we provide emotional care, tutoring, assistance with schooling, educational games, among others.
How Can People Help/Volunteer With You?
Our organization operates as a flat structure, is self-managed and transparent. Therefore, volunteers can work in any area that interests them, where tasks are coordinated and planned by everyone. Volunteers can play any role they wish. If you are looking to contribute to a social volunteering project that provides real experience in social work, without intermediaries, that is developed by the volunteers themselves, where they work as a team, offering you a socio-cultural immersion at low/no cost (excursions, camps, training courses language or cuisine, access to knowledge about culture and folklore), in a rewarding and fun format. On weekends, group excursions and camping stays are organized to many areas of interest around the project (mountaineering, eco-trips, trips to the central forest, cultural immersion in the villages). All projects are created and developed by us and are available throughout the year.

What Makes You The Proudest About Your Organization?
More than 10 years of direct social work helping to improve the quality of life and education of hundreds of Andean women, their families and small children, the vast majority of Andean immigrant families in difficult economic situations. In addition to having had the happy participation of dozens of volunteers, collaborators and interns every year, we achieved the proposed objectives and they returned comforted knowing that their work was well used, in addition to having had an intense and real experience of exchange and cultural immersion throughout of the Andean towns and the central jungle.
