Your International Volunteer Work Abroad Programs Resource
International volunteer work programs do not have to cost you a lot of money! There are a number of fantastic international volunteer opportunities that do not cost anything other than the cost of you being there. These organization are run locally and can be a bit tricky to find online, but they are worth it once you do!
True Travellers Society was developed out of frustration with the “volunteer in Asia, (Africa, South or Central America or wherever), but first pay us lots of money” organizations (maybe that isn’t a direct quote, but it is pretty close).
The aim of this site is to connect people to free or low fee international volunteer and meaningful travel opportunities. We try to help connect you with international volunteer programs and provide you with resources to make it happen (like volunteer forever).
Ideally, we receive information directly from fellow travellers about organizations with which they have volunteered. We also receive information from community based and not for profit organizations abroad that are looking for international volunteers. Information comes in sporadically, so check back regularly for updates and hopefully you can find the organization and opportunity you are looking for.
If you have any international volunteer opportunities to share or are interested in finding an opportunity, please let us know. Maybe we can help you out!
Although international volunteering is the primary purpose of this site, I also am interested in great travel stories and adventures. Basically, I look to share interesting travel stories and ideas of how to get off the tourist track as much as possible. I believe that this is the best way to travel.
Safe and happy travels,
Andrew Wahba
