Our community-driven model has been integral to our success since our founding. An entire village has undergone a transformative ripple effect through a comprehensive, local approach. And it all starts with education: an educated woman is more likely to give back to her community, inspire others to attend school, and cultivate a sense of independence among her peers and the next generation.
At Malaika, we believe this community-driven model can and should be adopted globally.

Malaika is impacting thousands of lives and transforming an entire community in the Democratic Republic of the Congo through enhanced access to education, water, and healthcare. We’re teaching girls to question and engage and evolve into progressive leaders who can positively affect their villages, country, and world. And we’re giving adults a space to reinvent and reimagine their lives.
