The African American Academy is a K – 12 international school created in 1998. The Academy offers a holistic and multicultural curriculum leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the Edexcel OL & AL. The School is an official learning and examination center for the UK based EDEXCEL International Examinations and the US based College Board.

The African American Academy (AAA) seeks to produce an international citizen proudly rooted in his/her culture, with open arms reaching to the other members of the human family. Its curriculum emphasizes academic excellence, cultural self-esteem and leadership development.

Here is what this Volunteering Opportunity is all about:

Duration: 3 months or longer
· Time commitment: Full time (30-40 hours/week)
· Times of day: Mornings and Afternoons
· Days of week: Weekdays (Mon-Fri)
· Schedule: Fixed schedule
· Start and end dates: August 2016 to June 2017
· Address: Avenue De Gaulle, Bonanjo, Douala, Littoral, Cameroon

Requirements:

– English teacher: 3 years of experience in the teaching of English language, knowledge of international exams. International experience is an advantage. Preference is given to candidates whose mother tongue is English or to those who have lived in the USA or England.

-ICT teacher: 3 years of experience in teaching information technology and computer programming. Capable to manage a school’s computer system.

-French teacher: 3 years of experience in teaching French and French culture full-time or part-time to students in primary (elementary) and secondary (middle and high) school.
