At the moment they are offering opportunities with their local partners in the areas below:
- Community/health centers
- Social services, social work
- Education i.e. volunteer interns/teachers in primary& secondary schools
They are looking for medical and non-medical volunteers with:
- A general medical knowledge
- A willingness to learn about local pathology
- An interest in contribution to community based health which goes beyond disease acquisition and treatment
Some of the tasks from that will ve given to volunteers include:
- Conducting patient consultations
- Community outreaches
- Organizing and facilitating vaccination campaigns
- Learning from the local community and demonstrating an appreciation of traditional therapies
- Inquiring into and understanding the lifestyles and values of your individual patients and the cultural fabric of their communities
