We are proud to offer a meaningful, fun, safe, and structured placement for volunteers to gain experience working in a resource strapped environment. Our projects run in partnership with local communities and conservation efforts. Our volunteers will be at the forefront of research and program support, and also have the opportunity to explore the beauty of Uganda. We know the powerful impact volunteers can have and believe that they are fundamental to our efforts.
Volunteers will:
• Build organization capacity
• Support psychotherapy administration
• Aid in youth programs
• Develop awareness campaigns
• Support research through data collection/analysis
• Social media and technical support
• Develop and complete a self motivated project that supports Ugandan people
By volunteering with IMI, you will help reduce the human resource burden found in resource strapped environments and pave the way for a healthier society. Volunteers and IMI have a mutually beneficial relationship. We create a space for the skills and energy of volunteers to be best used, as well as make sure that volunteers gain new skills and experience in solving complex health problems. By breaking through preconceptions and experiencing a beautiful culture, our volunteers will leave sensitive to the issues, action-oriented, and with a final product of their work.
Accommodations:
Housing and 1-meal a day will be provided by IMI.
Volunteers finance travel and other living expenses. We encourage volunteers to fundraise money for their trip.
Time Frame:
We are accepting volunteers from the 15th October 2015 onward for a period of 1-3 months.
