Seeking experienced marketing and web developer volunteers for Barefeet Theatre NGO, Lusaka, Zambia

Barefeet Theatre’s mission is to enhance the lives of vulnerable children and young people in Zambia, by providing creative opportunities to learn, express themselves and achieve their full potential. Based in Lusaka, we help over 2,500 vulnerable children across Zambia every year through our outreach work and community projects, giving them the skills, information and confidence they need to move towards a better life. We generate funding for this work through amazing dance, acrobatic and educational performances delivered by our Performance Company, who perform for businesses, embassies, NGOs, private individuals as well as at our annual Barefeet Youth Arts Festival and Christmas Show.
We are seeking experienced marketeers and web experts for volunteer placements from 2 weeks to 6 months, to help us promote the Performance Company and generate more income to fund our outreach and community work. There is no fee for these placements, although the volunteers will need to fund their own flights, transport and living costs. In return you will benefit from CV enhancing work experience with a high degree of empowerment and impact, contributing to an incredible social cause and working with a fun and welcoming group of Zambians and international volunteers.

The volunteers would complete the following projects:

Marketing: Create Barefeet’s marketing plan for the whole year, implement marketing plan activities (social media, newsletters, email campaigns), design and deliver a marketing programme for key events eg Barefeet Festival, Christmas Show, Dancing Barefeet with the Stars, and provide training for Barefeet staff on social media, email marketing and other communications skills.

Web experts: Redesign the Barefeet website so that it better tells the Barefeet story, is more professional and has stronger calls to action, update the content, add sections on volunteering and donations, implement an online payment mechanism for donations and ticket sales, deliver ongoing content updates and provide training for Barefeet staff on how to update web content.

If you are interested in either of these placements, please send your CV and a covering email to Grace Banda on grace@barefeettheatre.org or give her a call on +260 977 321639

Thank-you!
